Tucson Meet Yourself can’t happen without volunteers. Join us!
More than 600 generous volunteers help bring this joyful celebration of culture to life. Whether it’s your first time or your fifteenth, we’d love to have you on the team. Volunteers sign up for at least one 4.5-hour shift before and during the festival October 14 to 18. (Actual festival happens Oct. 16, 17, and 18.) Roles include greeting guests, supporting artists and vendors, helping on stages, and keeping the festival flowing. Every volunteer gets a food voucher after each shift and a T-shirt for each day worked.

Job Descriptions
Grounds Team: Clean, Safe, and Green
Join the team that keeps Tucson Meet Yourself shining! You’ll help manage recycling and waste stations, keep pathways clear, and make sure our festival grounds stay welcoming and beautiful. You’ll be part of a small crew that moves together through different zones—so you get to see the entire festival while you work. It’s active, social, and deeply appreciated.
Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, and lifting small waste bags (up to 25 lbs).
This isn’t constant heavy work—there’s plenty of teamwork, laughter, and breaks built in. Take bags to the dumpster divas to do the major heavy lifting.
Why It’s Important: As part of our Grounds Team, you’re the heartbeat of sustainability at TMY. Your efforts help thousands of visitors experience a clean, joyful, and eco-friendly festival weekend.
Beverage Booth Team
Assist with the sales of sodas and refillable TMY branded water bottles. Keep the booth organized and tidy, monitor merchandise sales, and restock when needed. Provide friendly service and encourage donations after a sale to help support TMY.
Physical Requirements: Standing for most of your shift with lifting soda packs and bags of ice and quick-paced transactions during busy moments.
Why It’s Important: You keep attendees refreshed while promoting sustainability with reusable water bottles. You’re at the heart of the festival’s energy, ensuring everyone stays hydrated and happy.

Tent Assistant
Facilitate interactive games, crafts, and cultural storytelling with curators. Engage the public to connect with their own traditions or traditions of our neighbors.
Physical requirements: Stationary role with some standing.
Why It’s Important: You bring the festival’s cultural spirit to life for families and the next generation.

Donation Collection
Keeping festival entry free for all is important for people to learn about their own and others’ cultures to build a stronger community. Many people want to give back, like bringing something to the potluck. You will encourage those guests to make a donation after the festival performances.
Physical notes: Stationary role with high energy and enthusiasm as you pass the donation basket. Perfect role for music lovers and/or love to dance and love music.
Why It’s Important: You directly sustain the festival’s future for next year.

Festival Operations
Assist vendors, manage foot traffic, and pitch in wherever needed to keep the festival flowing smoothly.
Physical Requirements: Expect to be on your feet, walking, standing, and assisting in a fast-paced environment.
Why It’s Important: Your work keeps the festival running smoothly, ensuring everything happens seamlessly during the event!

Welcome Station Volunteers
Greet festival-goers at key entry points, provide directions, distribute festival flyers, answer questions, and collect donations.
Physical Requirements: Standing for extended periods, stationary role.
Why It’s Important: You provide key touchpoints for information, engagement, and donation collection, enhancing the festival experience for everyone!

Hot Dog Stand Assistant
Work alongside a TMY family to prepare and serve food. Help ensure the booth runs smoothly, interact with guests, and maintain food quality and safety.
Physical Requirements: Expect to be on your feet, with some quick-paced action and light lifting.
Why It’s Important: People LOVE the hot dog stand and this helps us to raise funds for next year’s festival.
