Preserving Culture, Family and Fun

Tucson Meet Yourself has many talented and gifted friends. One of our friends, photographer Steven Meckler has been lending his talents to capture and archive the festival for years. His ability to capture those special moments have preserved the festival for future generations to experience.

Steven MecklerSteven came to Tucson by way of Brooklyn, New York. He developed his love of photography in high school and graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a major in biology and a minor in photography. The camera won over his pre-med aspirations and he has been single-minded in his devotion to his craft ever since.

This year, as part of our expanded programs, Steven has agreed to teach others tricks to make their photos pop. On Saturday October 4, 2014, 60 lucky individuals will learn the art of photography from one of the region’s masters. His in-depth talk and compelling photos of the best of Tucson Meet Yourself will demonstrate best practices in photo story telling.

It is an honor to have Steven as a member of our team and blessing to have him documenting festival. His skills enable us to share the joy of culture with our community.
