Barbea Williams Performing Company (BWPC) is Arizona’s primeire African-centered Dance and Drum Ensemble, directed by Barbea Williams, a recipient of the Southwest Folklife Alliance Master-Apprentice Artist Award. The company’s emphasis is on Afrikan and Afrikan Latino dance, choreography, choreo-poetry, cultural folklore, story dance, using dance to educate and bring attention to current events and social justice issues.
