Baba Marimba

Baba Marimba is a Tucson band performing for 12 years. Our musicians have been regulars around town for decades and are well-known in various communities. We’ve played many times at Monterey Court, The Folk Festival, The Tucson Racquet Club and Solar Culture to mention a few venues. We play “World Beat Fusion” featuring baritone and soprano marimbas, kalimbas, electric viola, conch shells and African, Latin and Middle Eastern drums and percussion, mixed with drums, bass, guitar, horns and flute. We create original compositions that draw heavily from Latin, Jazz, African, Reggae and R & B genres – with a few tangos and waltzes – hence the fusion tag. We love to make people dance!
