Joseph Gauci, owner of the Tucson Pastizzi factory, started Malta Joe’s Baked Goods in 2016 and quickly expanded from a tent at the Heirloom Farmers Market to building his very own food truck, the Pastizzi Express. He now owns the only Pastizzi factory in the United States, in Tucson, AZ.
Pastizzi (Pronounced Pa-sits-e) are golden brown savory pastries, the street food of the Island of Malta. They are made with handmade phyllo dough and stuffed with savory or sweet fillings. They are delicious anytime for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
