Gustavo Luna first came to Tucson in 2017 as an exchange student at Pima Community College. When he read the description for Tucson Meet Yourself, something clicked. He knew
he had to be a part of it, and that weekend spent as a volunteer at the festival ended up changing his life. On the third day of volunteering, he was assigned a teammate named Aylin. They worked
alongside each other, and by the end of the festival, they became good friends. Years later, they fell in love and became husband and wife.
Over the years, Aylin has traveled to Puebla, lived in Mexico, and fell deeply in love with the beauty and cuisine of Gustavo’s homeland. She’s had the opportunity to learn about Puebla’s
food culture and recipes and while living there, immersing herself deeply in the community over time.
Now, Gustavo & Aylin are back in Tucson for Tucson Meet Yourself, not as volunteers, but as food vendors, for their second year. They’re bringing a piece of Puebla to Tucson, the place
where their story began and where their hearts still live.
