I am so grateful that my uncle and grandma taught me to make piñatas and flowers. I was making piñatas for my grandkids because I knew how to make them. When I moved to Tucson four years ago, I started to volunteer with teaching a group of elderly ladies to make crafts. I told them that this benefited me the most because it was relaxing me. I understand now that my family’s tradition is a gift that I was given to teach others about the art of making something out of what others consider trash.
