Alaina is a multimedia artist from the village of W:ak (San Xavier) on the Tohono O’odham nation, she works to create art which connects individuals with culture, specifically by focusing on images which resonate with people of color, indigenous individuals and youth. Specializing in murals, portraits/caricature and digital art, she also explores traditional mediums like basket weaving. She works to incorporate traditional and modern aesthetics to foster a deeper connection with the O’odham Himdag (Way of life).
