Shuka Parker – Japanese Calligraphy

I was born in Hyogo Prefecture, Minamiawaji City, Japan. I have practiced calligraphy since my childhood and learned from a master of calligraphy, Rumiko Fukuda. My children do calligraphy as well, because they are good artists and it’s good to learn Japanese traditions and culture. I teach them sometimes. Calligraphy helps me focus and be calm. As a pastry chef I use similar skills when decorating cakes. It is great to imagine the design and then create the real product.
